JanmPatri.in ("we", "us", "the website") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains how we handle information when you use our free tools. It is written keeping in mind India's Digital Personal Data Protection (DPDP) Act, 2023.
1. The short version
To produce an accurate Vedic chart, the birth details you enter (name, gender, date, time and place of birth) are sent securely to our server, where they are computed using the Swiss Ephemeris. By default we do NOT save these details. They are used only to generate your result and then discarded.
We store your details only if you explicitly tick the consent checkbox. If you do, the entry is kept securely and automatically deleted within 30 days by an automated daily process. You can use every tool without consenting to storage.
2. What we store, and what we do not
- Without your consent, we do not retain your name, date, time or place of birth after the result is generated.
- With consent, we store those details plus your computed Lagna, Moon sign and Nakshatra — and delete them within 30 days.
- We do not require you to create an account or log in.
- We never sell, rent or share your personal data with third parties.
- Your IP address, if logged, is stored only as an irreversible hash — never in raw form.
- We do not build personal profiles from your birth details.
3. Information that may be collected automatically
Like most websites, our hosting provider and any analytics or advertising services we may use can automatically collect limited non-identifying technical data, such as:
- Browser type, device type and operating system
- Approximate location (city/region level) derived from your IP address
- Pages visited and time spent, for understanding traffic
If we use Google Analytics, Google AdSense or similar services, they may set cookies. You can control cookies through your browser settings.
4. Cookies
Our own tools do not require cookies to function. Third-party services (analytics/ads), if enabled, may place cookies. By continuing to use the site you consent to such cookies; you may disable them in your browser at any time.
5. Your rights under the DPDP Act, 2023
Under the DPDP Act 2023 you have the right to access, correct or erase your personal data. Because any consented entry is automatically deleted within 30 days, most data clears itself. To request earlier deletion or to exercise any data-principal right, contact us and we will act promptly. Consent, where given, may be withdrawn at any time.
6. Children
Parents may use our baby-naming tool on behalf of their children. Any details are stored only with consent and deleted within 30 days, consistent with the DPDP Act's heightened protections for minors. We do not knowingly retain children's data beyond this purpose.
7. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Continued use of the website after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
